Artist Statement
Surrealist:
My name is Richard Newkirk. I am a surrealist artist. Within all of my pieces, I attempt to share a little piece of my mind with the viewer. I am a firm believer that we as people, are too into the physicality of the world and not the mental. I tend to create scenes to show my interpretation of dreams and thoughts;Â fantastical lands that I've imagined myself traveling through, or creatures conjured by the depths of my imagination. I want my art to be a message to people, which is that your thought is shaped by more than what you see, hear, and feel on the outside. Art is my passion, and I'd love to share it with you.
The Future
I have several canvases in the works, and a few special projects coming up. There may be more to say soon, but for now, I hope you'll enjoy what I have in store!
